Love Poem: Dark Side of the Crystal Ball

Dark Side of the Crystal Ball

We look at the past to see into the future,
But I don’t think it helps at all.
Cause even when you contact the experts,
They can’t see the dark side of the ball.

She looked into her crystal globe
“My friend, there’s no love for you.”
I bowed my head, and then she said,
“Sorry there’s nothing I can do.”

I said “I’ll be back the very next day,
And the next after that.” Is all I had to say.
“And when you least expect it, I’m going to call.”

Cause even the experts can’t always see
The dark side of the crystal ball.

I said, “I just met my love at first sight
So pleasant and pleasing, I can’t complain.”
Until I went to seek my fortune,
And was told she wasn’t part of my fame.

There must be a way
For happily ever after.
Honestly who has the gall,

To know the unknown, I mean who knows
What’s on the dark side of the crystal ball?

So with new found patience
I tried to make sure,
That all our days ahead
Were safe and secure.

By soothingly assuring
That no quack soothsayer
Has the right to make the call.

Cause the light we lit shines bright enough to,
Enlighten the entire crystal ball.
