Love Poem: Cup of Stars

Cup of Stars

When I escape
this world of storm--
(I can, you know, in many ways)
I'll leave behind
(they say it's so)
Just a body full of days.

When I escape
--go heaven-bound --
As easily as a tear is shed,
I'll leave behind
(they tell me so)
Just a body on a bed.

But oh, my Love
a Devil struck You down,
so after I had drunk my fill
of life without You, I begged God,
"Let an ocean-full of love
for him
who yearned for me,
fill me to the brim!
Then
I'll quick escape
This world of storm--
as a breath is breathed
--so easily--
If only he can take my cup
and dip it in the ocean waves
that our Love, unquenched, will quick fill up
and set his Spirit -- and mine-- free
to sing a thousand days."

So when I escape
this world of storm--
(I can, you know, in many ways)
I'll leave behind
(they say it's so)
Just a body full of days.

And wen I escape
--go heaven-bound --
As easily as a tear is shed,
I'll leave behind
(they tell me so)
Just a body on a bed.

But in the stars
the universe
is ours, my Love,
and then
together we'll drink deeply
of
Eternity
again.
