Love Poem: Crying

Crying

Bad news visited us today, and made us cry.
Good news came our way, and made us cry.

Gladness explodes when a child is born; and we cry.
Sadness surrounds when a loved one dies; and we cry.

O the thousand wonders of a cry.
O the myriad of reasons why.

What makes you cry?
He proposed to you and gave you a beautiful ring.
You love him, and he fulfills your romantic dream.

What makes you cry?
She said yes, and now you feel like a king
You would fly, if you only had wings.

What makes you cry?
Is it the fragrance of onions in your eyes?
Is it a breathtaking sunset in the Western skies?

What makes you cry?
Is it a picture of staving kids in a foreign land?
Is it the pain you feel when you’ve done all you can?

What makes you cry?
Does the sound of birds or a rose blossom make you cry?
Do war and conflict, or murder and terror make you cry?

What makes you cry?
Perhaps it’s dishonest promises from the lips of lying politicians.
Perhaps it’s the final words of “I’m so sorry” from your physician.
