Cruel Intentions

Our family home in which we live
Was suddenly very violated,
Questioning the possible motive,
Causing me to feel so degraded.

You poisoned something so strong;
Our special "family unit" we share.
Once so secure; now it's gone,
With so much damage to repair.
Like permanent ink, you can't erase,
Like the spots covering leopards.
What you said to my face,
I was shocked at your words.

So much sorrow and emotional pain,
Too heavy, weighing me down.
As if shot down by a war plane,
Knocking me hard to the ground.
Nobody should receive such disrespect;
Never to suffer what I've endured.
Stuck on an island, I'm shipwrecked,
My spirit and soull forever injured.

All this time I was misled,
Believing you cared for me.
"I love you like a daughter", you said,
And "You're part of our family".
Why your opinion of me is so low
I don't have the slightest clue.
Wondering why you hate me so
And what I ever did to you.

The "little things" just don't matter,
So don't concern yourself with worry.
There's more important things on my "platter"
Than my house "always being dirty".
YOUR way, not the RIGHT way or ONLY way,
But it works for YOU.
Just like "our routine" each day
That WE want to do.

My life you don't command,
It's mine to do as I choose.
Feeling I'm sinking in quicksand
If I disagree with your views.
All the negativity we get from you
Causes us all so much stress.
Let's get back to what we value
So our family can be a success.

Please let us live our lives each day
The way that WE want to,
Wanting love and laughter to come our way,
To be HAPPY is all we try to do.
