Love Poem: Consider Love's Needs

Consider Love's Needs

When love perceived turns and spills its desires
Into the vessel hidden in the soul
The urge to welcome rueful shades transpires
To color, the tears falling and lose control
The light and dark embers slowly burn gray
To leave cold ashes in the heart's cupped palm
Before tomorrow's wind blows it away
And leave an empty shaded realm of calm
Consider love's needs, how far will they go
To gather its worth from the field of time
As it wanders the sad darkness of woe
With memories still, barriers to climb
When love turns away it leaves in the cold
A reminder wishes and dreams grow old
