Love Poem: Communion

Communion

When you come to the Altar, do you falter?
When you come to the Altar, do you care?
When you come to take bread, do you dread?
When you come to take wine, do you whine?

Communion is an act of contrition,
Communion is a time of decision.
Communion is the place to set right,
Communion is our Lords delight.

Forgive your brother, whatever the cause,
Forgive your brother, without any pause.
Forgive your brother, don't count the cost,
Forgive your brother, or all is lost.

When you come to the Altar you need not falter.
When you come to the Altar and have shown you care,
When you come to take God's gift of love,
When you come, Love smiles up above.
