Love Poem: Comforting Thoughts

Comforting Thoughts

At the top of the stairs in the room to the left,
She lay on her bed breathing her last.
Where was her mind at, what was she thinking,
Had she drifted away, back to her past.

Was she with her dearest, who'd gone years before
The love of her life, she'd never stopped crying.
Was she in his arms as she faded away,
Such comforting thoughts, as she lay there dying.

And when it came, that dimming of life
Upon her face, did I see a glow?
I thought she smiled as she left this world,
Had her beloved one, just said hello.
