Love Poem: Come Home

Come Home

Whoever knew days could drag in this way
Could take a whole lifetime to dawdle away
So slothic and languid, persistant to stay
Feels like you've been gone now for infinate days

I remained diligent, I occupied time
Busied myself between structure and rhyme
This lack of connection seems almost a crime
I'm sick and I'm tired of speaking in mime

Do you think of me? I doubt that you do
I doubt I inspire the verve fixed in you
My hope is invalid, my faith is untrue
Dreams and what's certain are blurred and askew

I perish without you, I perish alone
prayers have been answered, you have come home
Not into my arms, they're empty, they're stone
I'm dying without you, I die on my own
