Love Poem: Colors

Colors

Do the colors on your petals
fall away with morning dew
Does the brightness seem to settle
with the light the way it used to?

Does the red; the black, and strip of blue
blend in with the morning sun
Does it start, and end with reminding you
of the way our love had once begun

The blue, the way my tear had fallen
and landed on the blade of grass
The pretty, subtle, hint of sky;
a pain that seems will never pass

The black, the darkness, holds me tight
and tries to keep its hold forever
It seems I'll never find the light
to guide our way to be together

The red, the blood, that never dries
that drip, drip, drips on me
Reminds me of the painful cries
when I found out we couldn't be

Do the colors on your petals
fall away with morning dew
Does the brightness seem to settle
with the light the way it used to?

Does the red; the black, and strip of blue
blend in with the morning sun
Does it start, and end with reminding you
of the way our love had once begun
