Love Poem: Colors

Colors

I’m pouring ink on the pages
I color my life and face it
There are things I don’t wanna see
So I paint them a different color
I hide them as I hide my sorrow
I wanna see the sun turn peach
While holding you on an empty beach
I wanna see everything in blue
Just like I see you
I’m tired of these same colors
I risk it all and make a mix
It’s my soul that has to be fixed
I throw your brush when I am done
I borrowed yours, cuz I don’t have one
I borrowed your courage and now I am brave
So I don’t run when I’m hit by a tidal wave.

I left my shoes in the streets
So that I can walk bare feet
So that you can carry me
lead me to something pretty
Show me the city
Let’s flicker together in the night
We are misshapen but still bright
Would you hold me tonight?
Would you keep me with you
show me the blue
I see blue when I see you
I see colors and dark
Then the colors spark in light
I feel the air of the night
And the stars shining bright
I would jump from a roof tonight
to catch some blue
I don’t know about you
But it’s lovely and it’s night
Can you feel it with me tonight?
