Love Poem: Closure

Closure

Softly, tenderly whisper it to me once more.
I must hear it before the closing of the door.

Tell me in a voice that's wired to my soul.
Tell me you love me with a love I alone know.

Hold me, mold me to your charms complete.
Soothe me with balmed hands before I sleep.

Of a truth, I need you now as never before.
There is a beckoning from that distant shore.

I tremble now, feeling the fateful hour near.
It will cruelly seize what I have ever held dear.

But we know in the back burner of our minds
that for every love, time this moment finds.

Softly, tenderly whisper it to me once more--
hurry, Love, there is rasping at the door.
