Closer To the Edge

Closer To The Edge

As I look across to the other
side I know I'm getting closer
to the edge. I'm alone here.
The smoke in the air is black
with a faint smell of my blood.
When a day goes by. When a
week goes by I inch myself
closer to the edge. Closer to
my demise. Closer to my
death. Rocks fall as I lean
over. Open my arms and it's a
free fall down to my haven. I
see him running and screaming
not to let go. Just as he grabs
for then hem of my shirt I let
go. Smiling I fall. Letting the
wind whip through my body
and tear it shreds. The closet I
got to the edge the more he
pleaded. In the end darkness
won. The darkness inside of
you will always win in the end
so don't try to fight it.
