Love Poem: Closer

Closer

What is it that you can’t say?
You drown my world into dismay,
And keep me back in stage of wonder
Thinking I just want to play.

Sometimes words just can’t solder,
Yet if it gets any colder,
Don’t deny my faithful lust,
And let me lay on your shoulder.

To sink deeper is a must,
For dominating on my crust,
You will fail to perceive
Ways and looks you thought could bust.

Was there a warmth I could receive?
My mind’s become like a sieve.
Yet my soul can still remember
The smell of a zest you can’t achieve.

Will you or will you not, soldier?
Will you or will you not, tender?
Will you, dear pretender,
Will you hold my hand?

In your eyes I’ve become
Who falls at once and trembles.
That’s not what I run from,
But is what every man resembles.

I'm not that weak
And you, without realizing,
Have made me seek
What’s hypnotizing.

You didn’t seize
My lame descriptions.
I could but freeze
In front of fictions.

Come on closer dear,
You don’t have to shout,
You don’t have to cheer;
Things don’t always sprout.

Don’t imagine what I expect
If I myself with all respect
Found a remote whim in your word
And links that seem somehow absurd.

Perhaps an alleviation
Is what I need,
Of loss among differences that lead
To a certain destruction

Of a mind,
Of a thought,
That once was kind
And never fought

Of a heart,
Of a soul,
That made it hard
To ever fall.
