Close Friends
They met, and soon became close friends!
They were only six years old!
They were so compatable,
it was something, to behold!
They stayed close friends, throughout the years,
with mutual admiration.
At times, they were inseparable,
until, High School, graduation.
Although their love, was not romantic,
they did, love one another!
Their unique relationship,
was more like sister/brother.
She went on to college,
and said she'd keep in touch.
He started working, for his father,
but didn't hear from her, that much.
Eventually, she married,
and moved back into town.
Turns out the guy she married,
was inclined to knock her 'round!
Her friend got word, about her plight!
He went to set her husband straight!
The husband didn't have a clue,
about his, forthcoming fate!
So they met, face to face!
He said "friend", you're gonna see,
there's a person, you don't want to meet,
in your case pal, it"s Me!
What happened next, is history!
The husband left, for parts unknown!
He promised that he would not, come back,
and would leave his ex alone!
The friends renewed their closeness,
but, the feelings weren't the same!
The love was much, much deeper,
and their hearts, were all aflame!
So, they decided to get married,
and have a child or two.
They'd spend their lives togeather,
which, they were always meant to do!
