Making it Personal

My life’s most preeminent gift,
wasn’t encompassed in a wrapped box with ribbons,
and bows, nor found neath a tree.
The greatest gift I’ve ever received,
was given to me over 2000 years ago,
in the form of a swaddling wrapped baby.
Jesus Christ was God’s gift,
and the expression of His categorical love for me.
This gift was free and there’s nothing I could/can do to earn it.
Money, good deeds, or social status
cannot procure my spot in heaven.
This gift was the expression of God’s love,
and I feel so blessed to be a witness of this love to others.
More than once Jesus has touched my life with hope, and promise,
I’m a recipient of His grace and mercy.
His love for me is a reflection of His unconditional love for all mankind,
Jesus laid down his life to purchase my freedom from sin.
My only requirement to receiving this gift of God, was acceptance,
and on August 27th 1968 I accepted this gift as my personal savior.
Since, Jesus Has Been The Reason For My Season
