Children In the Street

i envy every child that I see in the street. I see them and I feel like I can remember
being like them.

They live in the bliss of ignorance and have not yet discovered laziness.
The only emotion they feel towards the opposite sex is yuckyness and giddyness.
There is no confliction and nothing is unrequited. There is no comprehension of love or lack
of.
Your best friend is that way because you both like playing with the sandpit better than the
water.

Not because you discuss all of your problems, help eachother in moments of heartache and
can see, accept and love them in spaces of horridness and distress.

They spend their weekends playing curby with the kids across the street and going to the
supermarket with their mothers.

There is no confusion and everything is completely and utterly free. There is no obligation to
overanalise or over- think : there is nothing to over think.

Everything is approached with openess and hopefulness - not awkardness and suspicion.
Laughing is innocent, I have never laughed so much than when I was a kid. They do not laugh
at the expense of others or in embarressment. You will never, ever have belly-laughs like
they do.

I will never be able to look at the world with the eyes they do.
