Caramel Apple Kisses

Its a brisk day in the autumn,
a few changed leaves have fallen
and formed a crunchy pile
of a colorful bed. While
distant children play,
two people lay
in one another's arms.

Where you end and I start,
it's so difficult to tell.
Our world sweetly smells
of caramel apples.
I'm wearing your hat.
With your head tilted like that
looking at me with a smile,
makes me wanna kiss you like
you've never kissed before.

I want the way your heart soars
to the blue sky and falls
to always be my fault.
When life becomes a circus
and you get all nervous
and repeat what you say,
I want the lips that get in the way
to keep you from crying
to always be mine.

Your hand feels like feathers on my skin.
Leaves crunch under us and rustle in the wind.
We just stay and stay, one person made of two.
I'm watching the way you're looking at me, looking at you.
You slightly move your hand, you like the way
your hand looks as its touching my face.
So I take a breath and lean in
and you take a breath and lean in
til nothing but us is between our lips.
Its a perfect, absolutely flawless, caramel apple kiss.
