Can'T Win

Come sit with me a spell
We both got something to say
You don’t have to look at me so keen
I wouldn’t marry you anyway
You can tell by looking at me
What is drawn upon my face
I never knew where to go
So it had to be this place
But I never thought that I would get
My tongue stuck in my own, boot lace
And that you could really be so mean

But I never meant any of those things
I was thinking of another place
As warm and friendly as it is
It’s just really not for my taste
You always wore the prettiest things
Like a purse that matched your glove
And I could never really help myself
For I was so young and so in love
And I know now for the rest of my life
No matter what I do it will be you
That I always will be thinking of
