Can You - Question Mark

Can you hear the water in the creek,
Can you see the tears that stain my cheek,
Can you feel the pain that I can’t speak,
Can you?

Can you appreciate my art,
Can you divine what’s in my heart,
Can you imagine us apart,
Can you?

Can you breathe me, just inhale,
Can you see behind the veil,
Can you drink from this lost grail,
Can you?

Can you never treat me like a toy,
Can you see the man inside the boy,
Can you let me fill your heart with joy,
Can you?

Can you always enjoin my smile,
Can you persist the extra mile,
Can you my slip-ups not compile,
Can you?

If these small things you can do,
God! Please take my IOU,
There’s no doubt I will be true,
To you.
