Calm Down

It was a busy boulevard as usual with people going places. Granted, most of us are busy but need to discover "Relaxation".

Many years ago, my kids would often say to me, "Hey dad, Chill". Sometimes, they anticipated my 'heat up' and said it ahead of time.

Some months ago, expecting to turn left at the next light, I decelerated but slowed, even more, when I saw a pedestrian crossing outside of the crosswalk. I did not want the gentleman to misstep the island and backstep into the path of my vehicle. So I gave him ample time to reach the island
and solidify himself but in so doing, I was taken aback when the driver behind me grew impatient and started to blow. I said to my wife, "If that was a dog and not a person, he would not have blown his horn".

I am deeply saddened that we humans seem to have more concern for deers, dogs, and ducks crossing the streets than for our fellow humans. I'm not a bumper sticker type, but perhaps "I brake for animals and also fellow humans" might be appropriate.

There is plenty of love to go around for all things living, and loving other humans takes no love from animals. I pray we all would CHILL, CALM DOWN, AND LOVE each other more.
