By the Sycamore Tree

Beneath the valley, a story amasses
A long song of days of old
Of a lad and his lady
And their love so un-tamely and her eyes that sparkled of gold
She led him towards the sycamore tree where they pledged their love for eternity.
Little did he did know; to no one would she behold, for twas her time to go

There once was a blacksmith
A rundown old hag smith
Out of work with no place to go
He heard a tale of a maiden so fair and so the story goes
And so he did go to get her for a magic did possess her
Or so he thought would change his sorrow to gold

He begged and he pleaded but none of them she had heeded and said pray please do let me go.
For what you seek I have not, its folly that you've sought and a quest to ending road.

In his anger, he did smite her and as her life left her turned the old man to stone
Along came poor Romeo too late to save his love he knows,
Kneeling with this face in the dirt.
Saying lover o lover why must I suffer,
This curse of being alone
Lover o lover never will I love another
And the warmth of his heart began to slowly cold
But before he had spoken her eyes surely did open
For deep magic in her grew
and smite him she did
mistaking him for him,
for no love in his heart for her could be found.
