Love Poem: By the River

By the River

I sit by the river
In that spot where we sat
Together
One night, just us two
Lingering kisses
And gentle affections
Welcoming breathes of acceptance

I sit beside the water
Watching it move in silence
Still yet inspiring
Healing even my thoughts
As they miss you
Wish for your presence

Still waters
Bless me with sprays
Caressing my naked thighs
Brilliant rays
Soften my heart
And I whisper to the light
Longing for you
Your touch, your lips
Your tenderness

I sit by the river
Where no one goes
Its quiet comforts me
I listen to our song
The one that reminds me
In my heart
You’re not gone
Your love lingers on
Always inviting, exciting
Enlightening my thoughts

Mountains rise up
All around the river
Shadowing hopes
In hues of tangerine sunsets
Calico rainbows
And love that knows
I’ll never go too far away
From this place
Where love once danced
Through my soul
Flowing in swells of graceful
Wet clinging to my mind
Repeating the words
You told me
Words I treasure
Like gold

This memory of you
By the river
Is like a star shimmering
With life
Brightening, energizing
Shining, dazzling
Hypnotizing in dreams
Where I am with you
Always together
United by Our Creator
