Burning Bridges That Repair Themselves

to put things in perspective:

if this were a tape, side A is what happened. we’ll call it, the destruction.

if this were a tape, then this is side B. this is the aftermath.

the destruction and the aftermath will always find each other in any given situation, like a pair of hands that can never go too long without holding one another.

you and i, will always find each other, like moths to the flame,
like drowning man to land, to air,
like we need each other more than we need our own sanity.

side B is all anger.
side B is moths burning in the light and men drowning for the sake of it,
men drowning on dry land.

to put things in perspective:

side B was never supposed to be like this.
side B was supposed to be the aftermath, but happy.
side B was supposed to be me, but happy.
us, but happy.
us, but together.

welcome to the new tape, side A:

we call this the reconstruction.
