Love Poem: Buried Alive

Buried Alive

You buried me alive by your passionate fire
You drowned my drive to fly by your desire
I am the only one, surviving in this horrid wasteland
I am barely breathing without you – so, take my hand

Take this young heart, for I’m feeling numb

You told me you can save me from anxiety
You told me you can push away my fears
You told me you can start believing in me
You told me you can wipe away my tears

At least understand where I’m coming from

I remember you would hold me tight
I remember I was your beloved kite
You’ve turned into someone else – you’re not who I thought you were
I realized that we were restless lovers…why are we still finding a cure?

Longing and awaiting His incredible Kingdom

And I thought I was living a dream
Instead, I am shattering by the seams…
Why do your eyes constantly beam?
Oh, how my distraught heart screams!

I’m a fighter, I’m a believer, and I’m a stronger person now somehow…

You told me, you told me to stand tall
You told me, you told me to be loyal
Maybe, I shouldn’t listen to you anymore
Wondering if you’re still the one I adore

I’m a brave warrior, wandering in the broad valley…sweat on my brow…

Please tell me something I do not know…
I am speechless – you say nothing new…
I take a bow, for it’s the end of our show
I am miserable more or less – don’t know what to do…

I hear you knocking on my front door, but I do not feel like answering it
I hear you calling me on my phone, but I feel like ignoring it as I see fit

Don’t know why we have miles between us
Don’t know why the time goes by so fast
Don’t know why we aren’t on the same bus
Don’t know why I can’t let go of the past

I’m the only one, buried alive by this love affair
I am so breathless – tell me how we can play fair
