Love Poem: Broken Together

Broken Together

She had my desire and fortitude from the start.
Love had bitten my soul, along with my mind.
My first love, my first lover, my first conquest,
Many years past so quickly, then made mistake.
Night of treachery, discontent, unforgettable,
Three hours that night felt like an eternity.
My heart new, what my mind suspected.
Dislodged, quivering I heard her arrival.
She came in, unquiet, like nothing mattered.
Lying next to each other, confession began.
Calmly I said; I know what happened tonight.
She began my torture, from words she spoke.
Another with my beloved, she spoke the words.
Though I begged, pleaded, crying tears deep.
Weeping, sobbing, we held each other tight.
Could forgive, though never ever to forget,
We both new the time, the end of a lifetime,
Crime not hers alone, I had deceived myself.
I devoured my will, my sacrificed devotion.
Tonight she cheated; tonight I also sinned.
Her debut was merciless; no less was mine.
Together we failed each other in differences.
Together we had broken our bonded spirit.
Tears would flow for many ages of both.
Our hearts bred in love, now broken together.
