Broken Pieces
When first he saw her he was taken by her beauty,
but she was sadly broken like a lovely flower vase
whose pieces were shattered and scattered on the ground.
For she had been so carelessly mishandled,
dropped and left behind to go to waste.
For just a fleeting moment,
he watched her from afar.
But then, with deep compassion,
he approached the lovely vase,
and one by one, he gathered up the pieces.
And then with steady hands,
just like a skillful surgeon,
he gently put the pieces back in place.
Then suddenly her hidden inner beauty
slowly started coming back to life.
And when the final piece was put in place,
the tender heart of the lovely flower vase
began again to gently beat with love.
