Love Poem: Broken

Broken

ONE NIGHT IS LIKE THE NEXT

EVEN THE ONES WITH CHAMPAGNE.

BLOWING HOT BREATH THROUGH MY COLLAPSED

HANDS I SETTLED FOR A CRACKED OPEN WINDOW

IN A BURNT OUT HOUSE WITH A WOMAN

WHO'S ONLY TAG WAS THAT SHE WAS DIVORCED 5 TIMES.

I HELD HER IN MY ARMS AND NEW THAT PARADISE IS NEVER PUT IN A BOX

MARKED FRAGILE.

EVEN WHEN SHE SAID I love you it seemed typically forced

but my loneliness was signed anonymous.
