Born of Love

There was a time when I couldn’t smile Joy had gone and my heart felt all wrong My spirit was shadowed by fears and tears There was nothing inside except pain and strife There was a time when I couldn’t comprehend The meaning of love… the meaning of good My soul was like a faded rose, lost and alone Looking for hope, inspiration and kindness There was a time when I couldn’t believe Wonders that arouse light felt completely dead Although I ached to know the meaning of hope There was only sadness hidden in my heart There was a time when I couldn’t let go of grief Everywhere I turned, darkness was all I could see Eclipsed by the doubt that pounded in my head Murmurs of suspicion tore kisses from the past There was a time when I couldn’t feel the embrace Clasping my heart with the brilliance of elation Falling from the skies where His light stirs the spirit With a sense of appreciation, a blessing and a sanction There was a time when I didn’t know His light or love The miracles of a Savior sent to us from God above It was only through His mercy brought to life by faith This gift of grace opened my soul to the eternal hope… Of One who would shine His light into the center of my soul Open up the doors of hope and faith, rain down redemption The amazement of a love so alive, so tender, so immense That I could only describe this feeling as a complete and utter healing Saved by grace, through faith in Him… my Savior, God’s Son, Jesus The One who made a way where no way had been before The One who filled me with joy that dances with the assurance… That His love has conquered every doubt, brightened every cloud… Filled me up with light that mirrors this love born of Him! Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
