Love Poem: Blue Linen Sheets

Blue Linen Sheets

When you fill it to the very top
that glass jar that holds your feelings you thought you forgot
and that moment comes when you must speak,
your golden face will turn pale; your legs suddenly grow weak.
This vessel inside you; begins to twist and shake,
your throat shuts down because your heart says it’s not safe.
Trembling hands and wobbly feet,
looking at them wanting to know if they can hear your heart beat.
A simple greeting of hello; is whispered silently
which makes my mind wander erratically.
Your ally love is now your foe.
“Don’t speak a word, keep the mouth quiet and breathe in slow.”
Take a step back and watch from a view.
You’ll keep quiet because you’re unsure what to do.
Pushed and pressured to get the job done,
you can’t remember when this whole thing begun,
A connection and bond is at stake.
Lack of communication will just make you procrastinate.
You’ll watch the rain dribble down on those window pains in your room,
and imagine they’re looking up at the same glowing moon.
While lying at home alone on those blue linen sheets,
indecisive decisions await and August is in just a few of weeks.
