Love Poem: Blue Heart

Blue Heart

I once had a love that was a cruel lie
Moments of passion we shared together
No other thought could occupy my mind
The smell of her intoxicated me

Moments of passion we shared together
Adrift on a sea of red rose petals
The smell of her intoxicated me
Yet there was another she chose instead of me

Adrift on a sea of red rose petals
The color of the heart I offered her
Yet there was another she chose instead of me
Sometimes love can be a fickle guest

The color of the heart I offered her
Devoid of oxygen it turned to blue
Sometimes love can be a fickle guest
I wanted her more she gave me less

Devoid of oxygen it turned blue
My heart matched the color of my eyes
I wanted more she gave me less
Still I would not change a single thing

My heart matched the color of my eyes
Now with this heart I was able to see
I wanted more she gave me less
In the end it worked out for the best

Now with this heart I was able to see
This woman was never meant for me
I wanted more she gave me less
My blue heart no longer belonged to her

This woman was never meant for me
Moments of passion we shared together
My blue heart no longer belonged to her
I once had a love that was a cruel lie

Incurable Romantic Contest.
