Blossoms and Bubbles

BLOSSOMS and BUBBLES

As petals fall from blossoms long denied
the beauty of their warrantless false pride
abated as love’s bubbles slow expired
drowning in a love once so desired.

Once tickling bubbles had ignited flame
to blossom in the heart unknown to shame
caressed by mindless passions sole resolve
to tend the flame of heart fully involved.

The blossoms could not stand the lurid heat
thus did the petals fall at lovers feet
last bubbles lay atop the warm champagne
first tears the many lies that lovers feign.

The scent of blossoms long expired flame
eased by the numbing bubbles empty shame.
