Love Poem: Blocked the Melody

Blocked the Melody

Bum. Bum. Bum-ba-dee-dum.
La. La. La-la-la-la.
The melody plays softly through the room,
As I stare without seeing because I'm thinking of you,
Thoughts of your smile and your drive,
Thoughts of losing my breath as I look in your eyes.
Are you what I've been looking for this whole time?
Because, despite the song, I can't get you off my mind.
Bum. Bum. Bum-ba-dee-dum.
La. La. La-la-la-la.
Slowly the voice on the radio fades.
How do you make me melt in so many ways?
The perfect definition of both me and my opposite,
Driven with a laid-back kind of confidence.
I've developed a crush on everything you do,
Even those things I hate don't seem so bad on you.
Bum. Bum. Bum-ba-dee-dum.
La. La. La-la-la-la.
Are some things really worth the wait?
How long will this take?
An estimate will suffice.
Just tell me it's worth my time;
Because never before have I found someone who affects me so totally,
And no one has ever taken over my mind and blocked the melody.
You've got me forgetting the song on the radio.
I can't focus on the beat or the flow.
Bum. Bum. Bum-ba-dee-dum.
La. La. La-la-la-la.
The melody floats through the room,
But I can't focus on anything but you.
