Blinded By the Light

To think about the years of past,
Remembering back from science class.

The sun is just the nearest star,
That blinds you from the ones afar

In the dark; there’s trillions there,
At night we must look up and stare.

There’s days months and years in life,
When times are hard and times are rough.

It blinds us from the stars out there,
The love and hope and time to care.

I smiled when the sun was bright,
But realize now that isn’t right.

Without the dark those stars won’t shine,
And thinking love should be divine.

Devine life will not always be,
Just perfect like I hoped to see.

I learned a lot a year ago,
Relationships don’t always glow.

Wanting you back without you there,
It hit me hard, for you were rare.

The proof of love is not three words
Don’t be upset, you haven’t heard.

My heart of love, it may seem dark
But you’re the star, which makes it spark.
