Love Poem: Blind

Blind

Something in the way that you kiss
As if from your spoken word I’d miss
Each full lip may a tempted sorrow bring
In this moment of this forget me not fling
Whilst my back against this cold, hard wall
May your hands protect this crumbled fall
When your thumbs trace my trembling chin
I dare not let myself catch your cheshire grin
Take this dagger and cut out both of my eyes
Turn off the moon and dim those shining spies
As there is no star upon which I’d make this stance
To have your body move with mine, this lovers dance
No fountain would make do, I’d take every ocean
And bottle it up and drink it all, this salted potion
That maybe one morning you would decide to stay
So forgive me this once, when you ask to come and play
This game of Russian roulette, your stone face of poker
That this king of hearts would treat me as his loves joker
I wish to not see this boy who makes my heart scolded
So when we begin to kiss, please leave me blindfolded
