Blessed Treasures

Blessed Treasures

What blessed treasures in our kingdom of love thrive.
A love of four decades has grown and is still alive.
We have beaten the odds of half of marriages that end.
We may disagree at times, but always seem to mend.

I feel endearing love shared with me each and every day.
You calm my fears to instill hope, you always find a way.
Fatherhood fits you as a comfortable old worn glove.
Our children have always known the guidance of your love.

Now retired and at home, as we reach our golden years,
Wrapped in youthful memories with wistful, joyful tears
We sustain each other through sickness and in health
And realize that our union contains the greatest wealth.
