Bled Rose

Bled Rose
"Fragrance wafted where're she goes" That's how you compared me to a rose...
You came and stopped by, some loveless day And told me you were going away To never come back ever at all Weak and trembling I slipped to the floor. A bruised fractured heart, a weeping soul Nothing nor anyone could console As my spirit began to decay I started slowly fading away. There I lay truly torn and broken By the cruel words that were spoken Just as the red rose when drained of life My heart was empty, wallowing strife. No hands my lifeless soul to caress No words to comfort the hopelessness A withered dry rose with anguished heart Devastated that love’s torn apart. Cold as the promise we would be wed Is my poor heart now you've gone and left No longer blooming, face turned to sun The core of my world's fled, left me numb. Knowing how much I loved you to bits You gave me a rose, my parting gift Losing you was for me just too much Squeezing every drop of my life's blood. I can't forget your face as you left Your smile as you wished me all the best Now the love has gone that quenched my thirst A blood bled rose has dispersed from earth.
