Love Poem: Black Tide

Black Tide

My eyes tightly close,
My hands tangled in my hair,
Wrung in fists,
I bite into my lip.
The pain continues,
Getting worse,
Each agonizing second.
My name's being called,
So close...,
But so far away.
My heart chips,
Peices break away like wood.
They splinter off,
Puncturing my lungs.
I gasp for air.
The voices fade.
I pry my teeth from my lip.
My fingers lossen.
My eyes relax.
Numbness;
A steel shell,
Protecting me from the truth;
What i've been avoiding,
All along.
Finally breaking through my walls,
The ones years took to build,
It has finally been found,
Has been twisted into reality,
As i've been in denial.
I drift into a dreamless sleep,
As I slowley fade,
Away into the tide,
Black waves pulling me in.
Deeper,
Deeper,
Gone.
