Bittersweet, Former Exultations

Bittersweet, Former Exultations

We met, in yesterdays, we long held dear
Once found our hearts leaped;
Great times, golden moments so clear,
sweet harvests were reaped.

An April day, blue sky sang out loud
Walking we, sang in tune;
Our love became deep and so proud,
Approaching the month of June.

Now look back, upon our sad separation
And we find, dreams can die;
Bittersweet, former exultations,
asking was our love a lie?

Upon our love's loss, angels did cry
Past life, in its sanitation;
Happy times, grew by leaps and bounds,
Was it all just imagination?

"We met(on) an April day (and) now look back,
upon our love's loss" .
Craters fill the grounds we played
Hearts torn and far away we toss
But what if, in love, we had stayed?

Note- Presented as was written. Have no clue were I was taking it or
even if it was finished.Seems the poem is the answer to the stanza
written after my name and date written. Just too long ago
to remember. Was in a whiskey fog maybe back then. lol
