Love Poem: Better Late Than Never

Better Late Than Never

Sitting in the back car
of a fast moving train,
two strangers, their eyes slowly collide
Probing questions
over dinner by candlelight,
got so much in common they soon realize
Come late evening,
there’s dancing and laughter
Such a strong attraction they cannot hide
At the end of the journey,
they exchange digital promises
And so begins a December romantic sleigh ride

Better late than never, Chorus:
when two searching hearts find true love
A love given in a short time,
can be more than
some do receive in their whole life
Better late than never,
when two strangers meet in the night
The love given in such a short time
can be more than
some will ever know in their whole life
Better late than never ...
Love is always
better late than never

At an evening movie
to watch the silver screen,
with popcorn and lonely winter dreams
Standing in line next to you,
is another lonely heart too
Chocolate conversation opens the first scene
By the end of the movie,
as the last credits roll by
Your winter thoughts have turned to spring
Next come hot summer dates,
then cool autumn kisses late
December sleigh rides romantic holidays bring

Better late than never, Chorus:
when two searching hearts find true love
A love given in a short time,
can be more than
some do receive in their whole life
Better late than never ...
Love is always
better late than never
Better late than never,
when two strangers meet in the twilight
The love given in such a short time
can be more than
some will ever know in their whole life
Better late than never ...
Love is always
better late than never
Love is always on time ... even when it comes late
