Love Poem: Best Rondeau

Best Rondeau

When true love came, my heart was free.
None other had a claim on me.
Aware true love may not knock twice,
I was prepared to pay the price.
True love stood there resolutely.

An innocent, I couldn't see
it was the truest love to be.
Love made no effort to entice,
When true love came.

With an unfettered jubilee,
I searched my heart and found the key.
The time had come to throw the rice
For love made of sugar and spice.
When true love came.
