Belated Apologetic Valentine

I don't say the many things I should;
A sometime poet who runs out of words.
I don't do the things I could;
I get distracted once the wine is poured.
I'm not sure the things I say and think
Are born of me or come out of my drinks
There's no telling if much in my mind be true,
But when I think with my heart it all comes down to you.

I don't act the way you need,
My noble deeds all lie upon the surface.
I may fail, or I may succeed;
It all depends upon the purpose.
I spend my days in a quandary of hope and doubt,
Assailed by uncertainties within, without.
But, uncertain though I may be,
One thing is sure: You are the one for me.

You are the one for me:
This much is sure, this much is true;
I may be too blind to see
The Truth that binds you to me,
The honesty I should embrace,
The beauty of your own sweet face,
The warmth that carries me through the night,
The countless things that bring me light.

You are my Love,
This much is sure, this much is true;
I call the stars, that shine above
To vindicate my love for you.
Without your love, I would pine away.
Without you love, I would not last another day.

Be sure, if nothing else is sure,
My love for you will never die.
If anything in all this life be pure,
There is, to me, no thing more sacred than your sigh.
There is no thing more precious than your eye
When gazing on me, full of faults,
When enduring all my secret vaults.
