Love Poem: Becoming

Becoming

How irritated you are by the questions that I ask,
Telling me I am a nescience
Talking to me is a task
How easy it is to stir up contentions
How hard to soften the grudge
Telling me that I am the reason
For the “dis” en-couragement
The things I’ve said has been recorded to taint the mind
The reason why you are the way you are
And nothing will ever be the way it was
Your love will never be the way you loved
The first time you said those three words
My precedence will never change your view
Of how you see me now

I come to a realization that things will never be the way it was
Like the beginning of the love we made
Or the lasting of the kisses we did not want to break
Now just breaking every piece of what we ever had
Remembering the times start fading
Forgetting what feelings ever took place
Holding on to the broken pieces
That does not fit as when once whole
Regret seems to seep and resentment starts to grow
Here because of the choices made
Tied to the promises said
Here because we are not there
And anywhere but here
Is where I want to be

Love seems to be just a word to say
As feelings wither away
I do not care is what is being said
And two is what lay in bed
Sarcasm sets the tone for replies
Nothing seems to be sincere as it were
Or genuine as once thought
You say I don’t listen
You listen too much…to negativity
Though I am not the only one that speak
The more you proclaim, the more I crumble
The more I listen, the less I want to
The more I try, the easier it is to error
And the more we just don’t care

The more I change
The less it makes a difference
The more it is that love is given
The harder it is to gain the love lost
The game is over is the response made
Tired of what has been said and done
Running out of time to win back the love
When all you think is, it’s just a game
Can’t win for losing and losing is what I am
Losing the love you once had for me
Realizing the loss, preparing for the pain
Numbing what love once felt
Hoping for the sun to shine after the rain
But only to know, never will it be the same
