Beauty In the Shape of a Rose

Last night I had this dream,
where your smile was still alive.
I watched our hearts beat,
 beauty poured from your eyes.
Please let me sleep,
just don't tell me its a lie.

Aurora I swear I loved you,
  but perfection never lasts.
As once you were so near,
it feels you're never coming back.
Everyday you built your walls,
and drew your lines for hate to cross.

Everyday is the same but I swear today I've changed.
Because yesterday is gone as tomorrow slowly drifts away.
Your still dancing in my dreams I cannot get away.

I wake to see your smiling face,
yet it will not warm this heart.
I should have given in,
 somewhere before the start.

Dreams of ghosts walk down that lonely road.
I saw myself holding hands with the reasons i cannot sleep.
And with these bloodshot eyes I only dream that I can wink.
All I ever did was spill poison over hope.
There beauty stood a rose,
with poison and a rope.
Goodbyes weren't meant to be like this.
I'm done walking backwards Wasting with the summer sun.
Here I am in the dead of winter with a million reasons to start over.
