Love Poem: Beauty

Beauty

Baby
You look in the mirror and what do it see?
Beauty?
Perfection?
A smile that could blind?
Eyes that could drown?

No.

You see sadness
Grief
Sorrow and bitterness
Never mind the heartbreak.

But stop.

Look again. Step out of your shoes and look again

I see it, I see it all
Happiness
Ecstasy
Exhilaration
But I do see eye to eye with you on something.
The heartbreak

I recognize it and I can sense it.
Your aura is off
Your smile isn't so blinding
Your eyes are shallow and your heart is straight up empty. In pieces.
Black and blue.
No longer luscious and fully rounded or cheerful.

But read that again. I recognize it.
There's a part of you that no amount of stitches could fix.
You can't close a hole so deep.

But baby you can fill it.
Get full of others happiness
Get blinded by their smiles
And drown in their eyes.

You are the only one who can fill that hole that he left you with.
You have the power.
So draw a line, and don't let him cross it again
