Love Poem: Balsama

Balsama

An aromatic breeze mingles fragrances of lilac and rose with the spicy scent of your auburn hair releasing whiffs of Balsama, an ancient perfume Caesar gifted to Cleopatra. My hand finds yours, and we laugh in unison, our lips yearning to touch. Time pauses in our bubble of happiness, where love insulates us from reality. And we absorb the moment, drinking in the essence of our souls. Feeling feelings freely shared, we step through the looking glass together! Your heart melds with mine as we melt into each other's arms, our lips locking into a passionate, arousing, intimate kiss! Our pulses start to race, and our hearts pound, for we are physically and emotionally in sync. But as love reaches beyond the moment, time resumes, and we hold hands happily enjoying the gift of each other, satisfied, enamored, and content, all the side effects of love! (Free Verse) May 1, 2018
