Love Poem: Aurora

Aurora

As the ground forms a sheet of mist
The wind blows the trees
Naked limbs, crunching their
Autumns dress as they
Scurry across the ground
Beneath pacing feet
A chill lingers in the night’s breath
Running its finger tips through
Hair and down backs
The lightest touch, meant for human skin
The moons glowing affection
Syncopates the blushing sky
Caressing the line where they first met
A laughter fills the air
Echo’s along the way
Sailing across the seas
Into another time
Onto a place where it belongs
The rough seas with
Drowning waves that shock the heart
And wash out the purity of it all
Rage fills the crying skies
The bitterness crashing down upon us both
Sharp colors cutting up the sky
Slice by slice by slice
The waves are shifting
To a louder ending
The nights breath is getting heavy
Choking on the thought
Of storming feet
The wind becomes violent
Snapping hope in half
Pushed under the crashing sea
Intensifying the sting and hurt
From the cold
The waves thrashing back and forth
Constantly reaching new heights
The sky begins to glisten
The elevation halts
Resting its head
Then the dawn begins to break
The first light leaking through the day
Stopping to open my eyes
And I see you
