Athenian Goddess Verses 5,6

Athenian Goddess
                      Verses 5&6
                          8 Verses

“Love resplendent knows not shallow,
As beauty most shallow knows not love,
For Cupid’s bow has scorched both wings,
Like a moth singed,
Summoned to the flame of desired passion,
It’s fate to lie in ashes,
Will like the spent phoenix rise again
And from false love reveal true love
For shallow beauty craves,
What shallow beauty is”.

Naked clay, moulded and fired ,
In the depths of Hell, a scavenger of men,
Your creation a gift to you,
Sculptured by the hand of shallow thrawn ,
That cuts deep a heart unsung.
And my thrappled tongue without voice or prayer,
And eyes once sparkling, gorged,
Lives in the shadows of despair,
Blind of Beauty’s love.
