Love Poem: At the Edge of My Reason

At the Edge of My Reason

Reason, clear and proud
Looked at me with stern eyes
And opened its growling mouth
To bid me to lock myself in my dungeon
So that my ego and my dignity
Remain untouched in the gazes of the world
And hence, allowing me to keep my mystery!

Reason seeped into my mind
Like ocean waves usually do
When propelled by monstrous tsunamis
Reason even hammered its nail in my willpower
Tying it to itself
So that, as it keeps telling me,
I remain as I should
Pure, with my skin shining with the glow of crystals
And my soul, sparkling with that of rare diamonds!

But being a free spirit
One made of curiosity
One made of emotions
I let reason think that it has tamed me
By taking the key it brandished at me
And locking me in its grip
But then, as soon as it slept,
I woke up,
Even if the night was at its deepest
I glided over its oceanic and tumultuous waters
To reach its edge
Where I felt the flare of my tenderness
Blush crimson and consume me whole!

Pray, I looked over my shoulder,
Hesitated between staying or going back to reason
When I felt my flames reaching out to consume all
Of the edges of the same overwhelming reason
And freeing me on the one hand
But binding me to them
By bringing me to assume of my actions!
