At He Risk of Appearing Repetitive

At the risk of appearing repetitive This poem is again about love What else in life is all encompassing It's at the core of all that we do More important than anything else by far However love is not always part of the equation Nations battle for land and power Love is furthest from their evil minds They must have an extra special gene That doesn't exist in normal well-adjusted people Perhaps an unhappy loveless childhood Unhappy parents, setting a bad example No love, lack of caring, no commitment When those are not part of one's upbringing People sometimes can become jaded And think conflict is a natural part of life I'm surely not making excuses for deviant behaviour At some point in one's life We all reach a point when reality overtakes And loving, law abiding forces, rule our lives However there are still extreme cases And that's when these forces become so strong That evil acts seem quite natural They see these as normal occurrences in life Just like the rising and setting of the sun But love still remains the most potent force At the risk of appearing repetitive The love we have at our disposal Gives us a reason to try to be the best Most loving person, we can be © Jack Ellison 2014
