As We Dream On
During sleep, as we dream,
we are the dreamed object,
knowing not the dreamer
is also us in trance.
Love then’s the redeemer.
During sleep, as we dream,
we’re bereft of free will
or so it does appear,
responding by instinct,
emoting joy and fear.
During sleep, as we dream,
we’re yet attached to form,
though it’s an illusion
of which we’re ignorant,
so what’s the solution?
During sleep, as we dream,
if stillness our fulcrum,
awareness void-centric,
we succumb not then to
any ego spawned trick.
